When should we start the recruiting process?
Most families start later than they should. The honest answer: 9th grade isn't too early to learn the rules and start building the foundation, and 11th grade isn't too late to make a real impact — but you have less margin for error. NextGen Compete adapts the checklist to wherever you are right now and tells you exactly what to focus on first.
Is this only for D1 athletes?
No. The recruiting system is built for D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and JUCO families across every sport. Most college roster spots aren't at the top of D1 — and your athlete's best fit may be at a level you haven't even considered yet. The system meets your family where you actually are, not where you wish you were.
How is this different from NCSA or the other recruiting services?
Most existing services sell exposure — getting your athlete into a database where coaches might find them. NextGen Compete sells preparation. We give you the system to know what to do, see where your athlete actually stands, identify the right schools, and run the outreach yourself. Being in a database doesn't mean you're ready for a coach's call. We make families ready.

My kid's club coach already helps with recruiting. Do we still need this?
A great club coach is a huge advantage — and NextGen Compete works alongside one, not against. Coaches use it to run their team's recruiting operation. Families use it to manage their athlete's specific journey. The two views are designed to work together. If your coach isn't on the system yet, you can invite them.
