Is this built for high school coaches, club coaches, or both?
Both. NextGen Compete is built for varsity coaches, club coaches, AAU coaches, and anyone running a recruiting operation for their athletes. Whether you have 15 kids on one roster or coach multiple teams, the system scales with you.
What does "on the record" mean for outreach?
Every email, referral, or follow-up you send through the system on behalf of an athlete is logged — timestamped, attributed to you, and visible to the athlete and their family. No more work disappearing into your inbox. Families see the referrals you've made for them, and you get credit for the legwork.
How does this work with parents who want to be involved?
Families have their own view of the system alongside yours. Parents and guardians can manage their athlete's profile, track schools, and run day-to-day activity on their side. You get the team-level view — rosters, target programs, and the outreach you're doing on the roster's behalf. The two views are designed to work together, not compete.
How do I get my athletes onto the system?
The Athlete Invitation system lets you invite any athlete (and their parents) by email. They create their account, link to your team, and their profile and Readiness Score become visible in your roster view. Families see the invite came from you — which reinforces the coach-led relationship.
Does using the system mean I have to do more work?
The honest answer: running recruiting well has always taken work. What changes is that the work you're already doing — referrals, follow-ups, camp research, tracking status — lives somewhere visible instead of in your head.
